The Job Interview – Making the Right Impression

Future employers will be looking for all types of skills, personality traits, qualifications – but making the right impression is essential. We have created some top tips to help you through:

  1. 1 Dress smartly.
    In some cases the invite will state what dress code applies. In this case follow it but always urge on the side of smart though. 
  2. Arrive around 10 minutes earlier than your scheduled time.
    If you are going to be late, always call to advise your interviewer.
  3.  Always be calm, confident and friendly. Or try to be as much as possible.
    Smile and where applicable give a firm not floppy handshake.
  4. Listen carefully to the questions – answer what is asked. It is common practice for interviews to ask for examples it is good to have a few in mind when the interview takes place
    Elaborate where necessary, but do not waffle. Answer clearer.
  5. Think of some questions that may be asked and that you can ask about the specific job you are going to. Prepare some answers in your mind.
    Avoid direct questions about hours and pay in the early stages of interview
