Restaurant Bars Supervisor

Job Purpose

To deliver high quality food & beverages to customers, assisting to ensure that the overall business achieves its ultimate potential in that of sales and profitability through creating an environment for customers which is stylish, contemporary, offering high quality “modern” food & beverages with style.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To be fully conversant with monthly/ daily sales performance and assist the Manager to ensure maximum results for the business is achieved
  • To work alongside the Head Chef and Kitchen Brigade ensuring that standards of both food service and production are consistently high and that the agreed standards are maintained, regularly tested and reviewed
  • In your capacity as a supervisor you will be required to take a hands on role with the service delivery of breakfast/ lunch shifts within the Restaurant and Bar concept
  • Maximise productivity of labour resources
  • Ensure the department is prepared and organised to meet all business requirements, with particular attention to food & beverage stock controls
  • Ensure all company and cash handling procedures are adhered to at all times and any discrepancies identified are fully investigated with appropriate action taken
  • To assist with the responsibility to ensure all beverage related stock items, products are purchased in accordance with the business levels and that only agreed suppliers are utilised
  • To aid in the development of a positive, motivated, dynamic team through your effective man management and leadership style
  • Assist in the delivery of the marketing & sales strategies with measurable activity on an on going basis
  • To act as an ambassador, lead the team to exceed guest expectations and deliver exceptional service
  • Evaluate guest feedback obtained, both internally & externally, taking relevant action on feedback points received
  • To attend any departmental and training meetings as required, ensuring within your own departments you assist your manager in implementing a training plan for your teams ensuring that they receive regular training that enables them to perform to the standards and expectations
  • To be actively involved in the recruitment and selection of your teams ensuring you adhere to the Company recruitment procedures
  • Ensure all Weights & Measures Act and Trade Descriptions Act are adhered to at all times
  • To be dressed in a smart and professional manner in conjunction with the Quality Standards stated in your handbook.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duty as requested by a member of the Management team.
  • To comply with all health and safety legislation
  • To be fully aware of the Accident reporting procedure
  • To be fully aware of the Maintenance fault reporting procedure
  • To be fully aware of the Fire policy for your department
  • To understand how the Venue’s health and safety policy affects your department and how it links in with the rest of the unit
  • To be a valued member of member of your Venue’s team, helping and advising colleagues where required, promoting the image of the Venue and that of the Company at all times through active sales activity and a positive approach
