Contracts Support Manager

Job Purpose

The main objective of the Contract Support Manager is to build a team of proficient catering managers able to run their operations to budget and client/customer satisfaction

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide a distinct focus on fresh food and the development of menus in line with the company’s Food Nation community programme
  • Ensure the high quality of food provision in line with the agreed client service plan
  • Ensure monthly reporting of unit finances to the client and Operations Manager
  • Ensure financial controls inline with company policies and procedure at all sites
  • Assist/coach the catering manager when compiling the annual budget (Sid) in the standard format so that monthly targets are agreed with the client
  • Along with the Operations Manager, compilation and control of the area budget encompassing turnover, gross profit, manpower, overheads etc
  • Ensure effective debt control in line with clients payment terms
  • Ensure adequate and appropriate advertising to aid the recruitment of the required amount and calibre of staff for your area
  • Ensure correct selection and recruitment of team members, including induction and documentation, so that an adequate structure is maintained.
  • Provide necessary feedback regarding advertising, interview and selection to human resources to assist with the companies overall recruitment needs
  • To identify the training and development needs of your team, making provisions for the development to be carried out and maintaining of records as necessary following best practice
  • To provide your Operations Manager with an annual training plan for your sites which will be included in the Regional plan and passed to HR help complete the company annual training plan
  • To carry out any required disciplinary action, as set out in the company Matrix and Disciplinary policy
  • Attend monthly meetings with the client in order to discuss our current and future performance on site in relation to the agreed service plan
  • Hold team member meetings as appropriate
  • To promptly identify to the client any working hazards or sub-standard equipment which could provide a barrier to the achievement of any of our objectives on site
  • Communicate with the operations manager any relevant feedback or information specific to the contract
  • Effective communication of information, policies and procedures to unit managers
  • To attend meetings and training courses as required
  • To assist in company business development with site visits and sales presentations
  • To represent the company at Industry events
