Coaching And Development Advisor

Job Purpose

To plan, manage and deliver a high standard of training, coaching and development to support the commercial needs of the business. To provide new management trainees with induction and training support to ensure they are equipped with the basic knowledge and skills required to succeed in their role. To deliver and manage statutory training courses to ensure a highly successful pass rate and ensure legal compliance. To actively contribute to the delivery of the HR plan

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work within the budget to devise and deliver a training calendar reflecting the needs of the business and individuals
  • Ensure the business complies with statutory requirements through the delivery of all health and safety related training, ensuring risk of exposure is minimised
  • In conjunction with the Health & Safety Manager, advise line managers on any risks associated with failure to deliver statutory training
  • Work with line managers to ensure essential development training is provided and create bespoke training sessions to meet the needs of the individual brands
  • Plan, manage and monitor the training of new managers into the business and ensure those promoted internally also receive the required training to succeed in their role
  • Review the training of managers within their probationary period, identify individual development needs and work with line manager to provide commercial solutions
  • Provide feedback to operations managers regarding coaching and development needs of restaurant teams
  • Work with the Talent Manager on open recruitment days, assessment centres and restaurant succession planning
  • Work within budget to provide coaching and development solutions across the business
  • Develop “in house” training packages to minimise external training costs
  • Where possible, develop packages appropriate for use across all brands
  • Design, deliver and evaluate training for new openings and conversions
  • Use managers and support office teams to develop and deliver training workshops
  • Provide managers with training tools to improve mystery diner scores and spend per head
  • Compare and negotiate costs from external providers
  • Ensure training matrices are completed accurately on restaurant and group level
  • Conduct training audits and reviews to ensure General Managers and Head Chefs are initiating and completing induction, statutory and development training for their teams
  • Ensure high training audit scores are recognised and poor scores addressed with operations and advice is given for continual improvement
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all levels and within the HR team
  • Share best practice with Advisors and develop training tools to be used across Paramount
  • Create induction and development programmes for managers, Chefs and support office teams
  • Highlight and assist in the growth of top talent within the business
  • Work closely with operations managers and restaurant managers to ensure training needs are identified, communicated and supported across the business
